The CICQ have a youth subcommittee that was formed as a program for young people ages 12-30 of Cook Island Heritage. These young people participated in this program to harness key leadership skills within the CICQ organisation, ultimately using these skills to then help develop and deliver programs for the wider Cook Island Community here in QLD. They were involved in events such as the Te Maeva Nui Festival, ANZAC Day Ceremony, Gospel day events etc...
Since 2016 the Youth Subcommittee members have grown and achieved highly. The previous participants are now serving their community in prominent leadership roles and written successful grant applications to help with the development of CICQ and the Cook Islands Community here in Brisbane.
The CICQ are opening the applications for other young people to participate in this program annually.
